Surface Preparation
Always ensure the surface is deep cleaned and all removable dirt and stains are cleansed from the surface before USP application. On new surfaces this may not be applicable.

Coverage
USP1 coverage levels vary in line withe the surface being treated. Typical coverage levels are between 3 and 10 square metres per litre, with higher porosity surfaces experiencing the lower coverage within the scale. For a more accurate coverage estimation, please call Urban Surface Protection directly, quoting the surface type being treated.

Coverage
Prior to USP application please ensure the substrate and environmental surroundings conform to the following constraints:
– Free from blemishes and stains as far as possible
– Substrate moisture 5% maximum
– Substrate temperature +5 C to +30 C
– Ambient temperature +5C to +30c

Application
USP
should be transferred to a suitable spraying and application system to ensure even and thorough distribution. Use a knapsack style spraying system or USP’s Drift Master for maximum efficiency.

Test:
Perform a small trial to determine substrate porosity

Coat 1:
Cover approximately 75% of the surface by spraying the same direction continuously

Coat2:
Whilst the first coat is still wet, apply the 2nd coat to the surface by spraying in the opposite direction to the first coating.

A wet glossy surface will be evident when all pours and capillaries are full with USP. The surface must be allowed to fully dry for the USP to bind to the stone. If rain occurs before the surface has fully dried, repeat all procedures.

Completion
The surface is trafficable once fully dried. Please perform spot testing of liquids to ensure they do not soak into the stone. Liquid repelling is evident immediately after application drying. However, it may take up to 7 days for USP to reach 100% efficiency.
